👉 God’s grace—not human strength—is the true power that saves, transforms, and sustains His people.

It challenges us to examine:
“What kind of power are you trusting to save you?”

The Four Movements of God’s Power (Zechariah 9)

1. 💥 Shattering Power (Zechariah 9:1–8)

  • God confronts and destroys false sources of security (pride, self-reliance, worldly systems).
  • His grace shatters everything we build apart from Him.
  • “God’s grace shatters power built apart from Him.”

2. 👑 Surprising Power (Zechariah 9:9–10)

  • The King comes humbly, riding on a donkey—not in force or domination.
  • God’s power looks different from worldly expectations.
  • True power is revealed in humility, not control.

3. 🕊️ Saving Power (Zechariah 9:11–17)

  • God rescues His people through covenant grace, not their merit.
  • His salvation brings freedom, restoration, and hope.
  • “God’s grace saves by liberating His people.”

4. ✝️ Sacrificial Power (fulfilled in Luke 19:35–38)

  • Ultimate power is seen in sacrifice, pointing to Jesus.
  • God’s way of victory is through giving, not grasping.
  • ➤ Power is perfected through surrender and love.

🔑 Key Takeaways

  • Human power controls, dominates, and exalts self.
  • God’s power humbles, restores, and liberates.
  • Grace doesn’t just help you—it redefines what power is:
    • Through humility

    • Through sacrifice

TESTIMONY:

I came into this message thinking I understood what power looked like. For so long, I relied on my own strength—trying to fix things, control outcomes, and prove that I was okay. I thought that was what would save me.

But through Zechariah 9, God gently confronted me. I saw how His grace first shatters the false power I’ve been holding onto—the pride, the self-reliance, the need to be in control. It’s uncomfortable, but it’s freeing. Because what He tears down, He replaces with something better.

Then I encountered a different kind of power—the humility of Jesus. Not loud, not forceful, but gentle and lowly. It made me realize that true strength isn’t about being in control, but about surrender. And in that surrender, I experienced His saving power. Not because I deserved it, not because I earned it—but because of His grace. He meets me in my weakness and brings freedom where I was bound.

Now I’m learning that God’s power is not something I strive for—it’s something I receive. His grace is enough. And it’s redefining how I live: with more humility, more peace, and a deeper trust that He is the one who saves.Today, I’m choosing to let go of my own version of power and trust in His grace.
