Scripture: 1 Peter 4:2, 7–8
“They do not live the rest of their earthly lives for human desires, but for the will of God.” — v.2
“Therefore be intentional, purposeful, and self-controlled so that you can pray.” — v.7
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” — v.8
Because of Jesus, we now live with a new direction:
👉 Not for our desires, but for God’s will.
And Peter shows us what that looks like:
- Be Intentional – Choose God daily, not accidentally
- Be Purposeful – Live knowing your life has eternal meaning
- Be Self-Controlled – Be led by the Spirit, not emotions
- Love Deeply – Make love your highest priority in relationships
👉 When we live this way, our lives reflect Christ—and our love brings healing, unity, and grace to others.
Reflection
👉 “Where is God calling me today—to choose His will and love deeply?”
The past couple of weeks—especially the last two—have been really overwhelming for me. There’s been so much to do, so many responsibilities, and at times I’ve felt stretched and tired. And in those moments, I noticed how easy it is to just go on autopilot—to rush, to get irritable, or to just ‘survive’ the day.
But the Lord reminded me through this passage:
👉 I’m not living for my own pressure or emotions—but for the will of God.
(v.2) So I’ve been learning to pause, even briefly:
To be intentional—taking small moments to reconnect with God in the middle of a busy day
To be purposeful—remembering that this work is not just tasks, but part of God’s calling
To practice self-control—not letting stress dictate my attitude
And to still love deeply—even when I feel drained
Honestly, the workload didn’t suddenly become lighter—but my heart became lighter. God met me in those small moments of surrender.
👉 Even when we are swamped, we still get to choose how we live—and we can choose to live for God’s will.
